About Us

On Q Events marks the coming together of two recognised entertainment and creative event management talents. After close to a decade of working on a variety of different projects from different ends of the country, Douglas Kamo finally made the move to Queenstown, joined forces with Simon Green and On Q Events was born.

The company has been formed around a shared passion for pushing creative boundaries and producing impact events that inspire, surprise and energise an audience.

We live here, we love it here and our goal is to provide creative event and entertainment solutions that are as spectacular, as thrilling and as unique as this fantastic part of the world that we are lucky enough to call home.

Simon Green (MCom)

Simon has lived and worked here in Queenstown since 1996 after completing a Master's degree in Mark eting at the University if Otago. During his first 6 years in Queenstown Simon has worked as marketing projects manager for one of New Zealand's leading tourism operators, operated his own contract marketing firm and worked as General Manager Mark eting for a local fruit juice and cider company.

Throughout this time Simon also had stints away performing professionally in musical theatre productions around New Zealand and in his spare time wrote and directed shows for the local operatic society.

More recently, however, Simon was contracted to manage the Lindauer Queenstown Winter Festival which he did to much acclaim, for the 2003 and 2004 festivals. This is the largest winter festival in the Southern Hemisphere and, taking full responsibility for event design, production, sponsorship, marketing and media management, Simon and his small team delivered what has become widely recognised as the best ever winter festival ever in 2004.

Simon's strengths are his administration, logistics and production management. He has an eye for detail, a wealth of event management experience and extensive industry networks. Simon is an event manager, but he is also an entertainer, a marketer and a business manager.

Douglas Kamo

One of New Zealand 's most sort after freelance directors, Douglas is without doubt the creative flare of the On Q Events team. Having acted, sung and danced on film, television and stage for well over a decade, Douglas knows how to entertain.

ACT Entertainment marked Doug's entrance into event and entertainment management in Auckland from 1998 to 2002. During this time he designed and delivered a range of creative event solutions for a range of major corporates including Pepsi, Westpac, Delloites, DHL, L'Oreal, Vodafone and America True.

From 2002-2204 Douglas worked with the incentive management team at Sovereign Insurance where he used his wealth of creative experience to take the Sovereign Incentive programmes to new heights. He designed and produced major national and international incentive programmes from strategic to marketing to the event delivery and is On Q Events - Incentive Manager.

His strength is bringing all the creative elements together in one seamless event that will keep your delegates and clients talking for years to come.
